Community Event

Join us at 7:00pm and Friday 27th September 2024, at the Pot and Glass, Egglescliffe, for an evening of music with Andy Brewster. We are raising funds for Egglescliffe Area Residents’ Association (EARA), so they can use the money to work within the community. Tickets are £5:00 per adult, and we would ask you contact EARA at egglescliffeara@gmail.com.

Andy Brewster is an excellent soloist, and we are sure that you will enjoy the evening as much as we will.

Following concerns raised by a resident about the safety of children and parents making their way to, and from, Egglescliffe Primary School, she asked whether it was possible to put in a safer route from outside St John’s Church, across Butts Road, to the school path. EARA, on being approached by the resident, spoke to councillor Stefan Houghton who was very receptive and stated he would raise the issue with Stockton Borough Council.

Councillor Houghton kept EARA abreast with developments surrounding this issue, and we are pleased to note that work has started for the installation of a path that will provide a safer route for parents and children. We would like to thank Stockton Borough Council and councillor Houghton for listening to the concerns raised and for undertaking the work that was requested by a resident.

Eggelscliffe Area Residents’ Association (EARA), working in partnership with the Egglescliffe Parish Hall Association (EPHA), have purchased an automatic defibrillator on behalf of their local community. This defibrillator is now situated outside the front of Egglescliffe Parish Hall, in a secure and key coded defibrillator box.

The above defibrillator has been registered with the North East Ambulance Service, who have been given its precise location, contact details and the key code. Should anyone require the use of a defibrillator they should dial 999 and inform the ambulance service of their requirements. The ambulance service will, because most devices have been registered with them, be able to identify the nearest device to their location and provide the appropriate key code, if necessary.

It is hoped that we never have to use this defibrillator but, we can live happily live in the knowledge that it is available for use by the public 24 hours a day, should a person suffer a heart attack.

The defibrillator and its box will be checked regularly to ensure the battery of the device is fully charged and the locking mechanism of the box itself is working well.
